Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Don't step on my Blue Suede Shoes

Blue_suede_shoes

8 oz. of Crown Mountain Fibers Blue Suede Shoes pencil roving spun and plied.  Destined for a Seraphim shawl, 'cause we won't step on these Blue Suede Shoes! hahahaha

Meatheads, meatheads, all around the world

Lambs Pride Bulky with handspun (Spunky Eclectic chocolate cherries merino I think) flower embellishment.  Fun knit-along, very little time investment (no more than 2ish hours) and stash yarn!  Can't beat that.  Finished last week and has been worn a couple times already, though I feel a tad self-conscious sporting the cone-head, eh.

Cannonsburgh

It's no Rhinebeck, it's no MDSWF, it's not SAFF, but there was fiber

Fiber to go

Alpaca_and_niddy

mini niddy with alpaca....

My initial reaction of this festival was extreme disappointment.  I saw no fiber related anything, just wasn't looking hard enough yet or in the right place.  I was very restrained, though Nicholas was the first fiber I spied (and proudly my only fiber purchase).  There's about 12 oz. of lovely grey alpaca along with an invitation to visit anytime ;-).  My only other purchase was this lovely niddy noddy that appears to be a little larger than my mini niddy.  I'd measure it, but seem to have misplaced it for the moment......  The drive from my Mom's took about an hour each way, and if we spent more than an hour there I'd really be surprised.  We went to the Nashville Farmers Market next, after much (and I do mean much) driving around and being lost.  Stopped for directions at a gas station, and was given very bad instructions.... in fact, we were back to the same area we were lost in before.  This would not be the first time Mom and I have been lost downtown.  The sad part is I used to work in downtown Nashville, but my excuse is that it's been more than 20 years ago.  She's been to Farmers Market many times, but always as a passenger and has never been good with directions (or .  Stopped at a Bail Bond shop, he didn't have a clue.  Finally stopped at the fire station and a very nice fireman pointed me in the right direction.  In the end it was worth it, because we bought yummy squash, corn and sweet potatos that we ate for dinner.  Yum!
