Almost 200 people showed up for our little Tea Par-tay!  We were a jolly group, the weather was gorgeous and we had a fabulous time.  Even being asked to relocate from the closed post office sidewalk didn't detour our fun.  Heh - the PO station manager I expect will hear from his supervisors about this.  I missed being part of a larger more organized group, but I think this was perfert for my first protest - there are definately more in my future.

Super Day

Had the best day at my LYS.  Took my spinning wheel and visited.  The ladies were interested and had not seen anyone spin before.  One couple stopped by to purchase yarn for booties and baby socks and the husband was extremely intrigued.  That's my first experience with a male other than my husband watching me spin.  My hubby wants to set me up with a motor to get more production.  Dude - that's not why I spin!  It's a very calming activity and helps me decompress after work.  The ladies kept asking what I did with my yarn - haha.  It's another collection.  I have knit socks, shawls and fingerless mitts, but not much else.  We discussed maybe having a trunk show and sale.  Can I part with it?  Not sure, but makes me consider the possibilities.  Must noodle on that a little more.

Because I'm not fond of pictureless posts, I'm putting up some of my spinning.

Thank You!

I wanted to give a big "Thank You" to all the trolls who have made my blog the first hit when "Ravelry banned" is Googled.  And "Bunker Ravelry".  Please pass it on to your friends - I only need a few more hits to secure a book deal.  And while you're at it, be sure and visit my friends - they're listed in the links below and they all have great commentary on this too.  I'm sure that they would appreciate the traffic as much as I do.

Anyway - someone mentioned this morning that it was like not being allowed to shop a K-Mart because you were seen in the Wal-Mart parking lot.  (actually she listed different department stores, but I thought it was way to flattering to Ravelry so I changed them up).

To all the lovely commentors, we're smart enough to get back in if we want to.  Of course, that would only inflate Ravelry's user numbers and database.  Hmmmmm - not sure it's worth it.  I want proof of my so called disruption.  Mr. Forbes & company have smeared alot of good people's names.  I for one, want all of my information deleted if not apologized to - publicly.  No indication I was ever there - wiped clean for the site and the database, deleted from the user stats.

ETA - my editor stopped by to let me know about a misspelled word - thanks for the catch!

Former Bunker members banned from Ravelry?

It appears that many of the former members of The Bunker have been banned from Ravelry.  All of our projects are still there, but we are unable to access them and are listed as "no longer active".  To say we are upset is an understatement.

It appears that the Fairness Doctrine is starting early and on a knitting site.  The libs have banned the conservatives from playing in their sandbox.  Fair - no.  But hey, it's their site.  Never mind that many of us have donated, advertised, uploaded information, posted patterns, helped build their database, bought patterns and merchandise on the site and lined their pockets.  I  want a chance to "clear my desk", if I'm no longer welcome then they should not have access to the information I uploaded.

Was it fair that the trolls bombarded our groups?  No.  Did it continue unchecked?  Yes.

My step-daughter has also been banned.  The child never posted, belongs to no groups and has only queued patterns she wanted me to knit for her.  Guilt by association I guess.

Sigh - just when I was getting ready to donate a large portion of my tax refund because we were FINALLY given the "Ignore User" function.

ETA - more fabulous posts

I was banned for thinking

Apparently.....

Well. This is a new experience for me
